On March 9, Dallas County announced its first Covid-19 case.

Every morning since, I wake up and think: “Ok…I feel fine. At least I know I was healthy as of 14 days ago!”

Having a full pantry reminds me of my grandmother’s floor-to-ceiling larder, crammed chock full of cans. Her generation endured both World Wars and The Great Depression. They knew to be grateful for what they had.

We’ve been lucky since then—we’ve never had to really hunker down and ENDURE. But with Covid-19, the time has come. Time to draw on the resilience of past generations.

We can do it.

Remember what your grandparents taught. They endured hardships worse than this.

PS- Wash your hands! Your grandparents taught you that, too!
